Fifty Years of Impact:
Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future
In 1976, the Foundation of Fulton-Montgomery Community College was established with a bold and lasting purpose: to strengthen the college’s connection to the region and to generate private support that expands opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and the wider community.
Fifty years later, that mission still guides everything we do.
As the Foundation celebrates its golden milestone in 2026, we are not only looking back on five decades of generosity and progress. We are also looking ahead to the next chapter of impact we will build together.
A Legacy Rooted in Opportunity
Since its founding, the Foundation has helped provide the resources that move Fulton-Montgomery Community College forward. Through the generation, processing, and allocation of gifts, the Foundation supports initiatives that enhance the quality of education and community life across the campus and region.
That support has helped fund scholarships, academic innovation, new technology, faculty and staff development, athletic programs, endowments, and capital projects. It has also helped create spaces and experiences that enrich not only students, but the entire community. The Foundation’s broader offer includes project-based giving, recurring support, and legacy giving, all centered on making tangible outcomes possible where traditional funding alone may fall short.

The Faces of Our Impact
The real story of the Foundation is not found only in budgets, buildings, or balance sheets. It is found in people.
It is found in the student who receives access to life-changing educational opportunities.
It is found in the faculty member equipped to teach with better tools and technology.
It is found in the family attending a performance, exhibition, or athletic event on a campus made stronger through philanthropy.
It is found in the community member who sees FM become not just a college, but a cultural and civic anchor for the region.
Over the years, donor support has helped bring meaningful projects to life, including advancements in academic and technical spaces, cultural venues, and community-centered facilities. From state-of-the-art technology in the Cybersecurity lab to simulation labs for healthcare programs, from the FAM Financial Technology Center to the Perrella Gallery, the RAO Theater, and athletic turf fields, each investment reflects a shared belief in possibility.
These are not just projects. They are proof that generosity creates momentum.
More Than a Celebration—A Shared Achievement
This 50th anniversary belongs to every donor, partner, volunteer, and advocate who believed in what FM could become.
It belongs to those who gave quietly and consistently.
It belongs to those who supported specific programs, cultural initiatives, and student experiences because they wanted to see visible change in the lives of others.
It belongs to those who invested not only in today’s students, but in a stronger future for the entire region.
The Foundation’s donor community has always included people motivated by lasting legacy, visible local impact, and meaningful connection to the causes they support. That is part of what makes this anniversary so powerful: it reflects a community of people who chose to build something that would outlast them.
Celebrating the Next Fifty
Throughout this anniversary year, we invite our community to celebrate this milestone with us and to recognize what we have built together.
This moment is about gratitude, but it is also about momentum.
As we mark the Foundation’s golden milestone and celebrate milestones like our new athletic turf field, we are reminded that the work is not finished. The next fifty years will require the same vision, partnership, and commitment that shaped the first fifty.
The needs of students will continue to evolve. Opportunities for innovation, cultural enrichment, and community impact will continue to grow. And with continued support, the Foundation will remain a vital force in ensuring FM can meet that future with strength.

A Legacy That Lasts

“The great use of life is to spend it on something that will outlast it.”
That truth has defined the Foundation’s work for half a century.
To every donor, supporter, and friend of FM: thank you for being part of this legacy. Thank you for believing in students, in education, in community, and in the power of philanthropy to create lasting good.
Because of you, fifty years of impact is only the beginning.
