Lesley A. Lanzi Honored
as 2025 Woman of Distinction by New York State Senate
We are proud to share that Lesley A. Lanzi, Executive Director and Chief Advancement Officer of the Foundation of FM, has been recognized as a 2025 New York State Senate Woman of Distinction. Nominated by Senator Mark Walczyk, Lesley was honored at the 27th Annual Women of Distinction Ceremony in Albany on May 13, 2025.
This prestigious honor celebrates extraordinary women across New York State who contribute meaningfully to their communities. Lesley’s leadership and dedication to advancing education, healthcare, and the nonprofit sector have left a lasting impact on Fulton-Montgomery Community College and the region it serves.
Since joining FMCC in 2010, Lesley has led transformative fundraising efforts that have secured millions for student scholarships, campus enhancements, and cultural programming. Her vision helped bring to life cornerstone projects such as the Allen House, Rao Theater, Raiders Cove, FAM Financial Technology Center, and the Cyber Security Range—spaces that enrich both learning and community engagement.
Her legacy of leadership extends beyond FMCC. Lesley previously directed foundations at St. Mary’s Hospital and Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She also broke ground as Amsterdam’s first female alderwoman and continues to serve the community as a proud Paul Harris Fellow and active member of the Amsterdam Rotary Club.
A recipient of the Juliette Low Women of Distinction Award from the Girl Scouts in 2021, Lesley exemplifies service, compassion, and purpose. Her ability to cultivate deep relationships—with donors, alumni, and community partners alike—has been instrumental in shaping a stronger, more vibrant future for our students.
